We are W.O.M.E.N.
In a concrete world, we bloom like Roses growing by the wayside.
When we are buried under mud, we transform into the Lotus flower.
When the clouds gather around us, we shine brighter than the Sun.
When it’s dark before us, we illuminate the way like a Moon full of love.
We carry ourselves while carrying everyone else.
We are the frontline fighters forging a way through the enemy’s barricade – for children, men, and ourselves.
We carry the waters of life within our bodies.
Our tongues are a flaming double-edged sword that pierces through the illusion that we are not enough.
We are the daughters and great-granddaughters of freedom fighters and rule-breakers.
We walk in the footsteps of those who came before us and carve out new paths for those that will come after.
We do it all.
Gracefully. Lovingly. Peacefully. Boldly.
Today, we celebrate Women.
We give flowers to those that are walking this world,
And we express gratitude to those that are no longer with us.
